MAPP is recruiting Course facilitator for MAPP long course

Role Description: MAPP Psychodynamic Psychiatry Course Facilitator


Melbourne Association for Psychodynamic Psychiatry (MAPP) brings together psychodynamic psychiatrists to enhance and develop the community by providing education, support and networking.


MAPP educational offerings include an accredited long-term course, short courses and information regarding supervisors, psychotherapy focused peer review groups and reading resources.


MAPP long term course is a two year course comprising weekly theoretical, clinical and infant observation seminars. The seminars run for 2.5 hours each week and include a 60 minute theoretical session and a 75 minute clinical session with a 15 minute break in between. MAPP Course Facilitator(s) work in close relationship with MAPP Course Director (see position description below) to prepare for and hold the 2 year course.


Requirement:
A mid-career psychodynamic psychotherapist psychiatrist who is passionate to join MAPP community to promote psychodynamic community and training.

Applicants need to have experience in the provision of ongoing and long(er) term psychodynamic psychotherapy treatment, preferably experience of personal psychodynamic psychotherapy and have been engaged in ongoing clinical supervision.


Duties

  • The Facilitator(s) is/are involved in the general coordination of the course, including attendance to structure, content and program direction/coherence over time.
  • The Facilitators will meet monthly with the Course Director a few months before the start of the course to share;
    • Review of the process and content of the seminar program,
    • Selection of applicants and group development
    • Day-to-day management of all issues relating to the Course, including sharing the role of holding the participants in mind/program & participant containment.
    • The role of appointment of the seminar leaders for the clinical, theoretical and infant observation sessions
  • The Facilitators, with the Course Director, will share, attendance at the seminars throughout the 2-year duration proportionally and along with other course facilitators.
  • The facilitator will be supported by the Training Committee in the provision of the Course by facilitating the linking up of students with potential clinical supervisors where appropriate.



Remuneration:
$10,000.00 plus GST per course. Payment will be made on receipt of a tax invoice quarterly, six monthly or at the end of the financial year.



Accountability
The Course Facilitator(s) is / are accountable to the Course Director and to the MAPP Inc Committee of Training for the provision of the Course.
